Chalet Yanagi

Architecturally stunning in a pristine forest setting, Yanagi is a modernist’s design dream with a breathtaking exposed-timber facade that blends beautifully with the tall forest trees of Japan’s Niseko ski resort destination and echoes the beautiful natural landscape. Just on the edge of Hirafu Village, the center of which is only a couple of kilometers away, the four-bedroom chalet features two master bedrooms and two bedrooms with three single beds each, accommodating up to 10 guests, and ideal for two families vacationing together.

With views of Mount Yotei from all bedrooms and the living area, the monochrome and natural-wood interiors, along with Japanese minimalist design, creates an artistically contemporary-styled chalet. The spacious open-plan living and dining room is flanked by a wall of glass that leads out to a broad, wooden covered balcony that runs the length of this space. Leather sofas and a stone-feature gas fireplace add warmth to the stark design.

A dining table looks out on the opposite side of the room with a vast floor-to-ceiling glass panel, while close to the fully-equipped kitchen, there is a breakfast bar that functions as a kitchen island with sink.

The chalet’s main master bedroom has its balcony and an ensuite bathtub, while the second master bedroom features an ensuite with a rain shower. Two other bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower.

An added feature at Yanagi is a media room with a 40″ flatscreen TV with Netflix and cube-style seating and a sofa with space to stretch. There are also ski and boot racks with buses to the slopes less than a kilometer away.
